Richmond Gaol

Access

Richmond is 25 kilometres north-east of Hobart. Follow the Tasman Highway towards Hobart Airport and turn left on the Cambridge exit and proceed along B31 to Richmond. For a round trip return to Hobart via Risdon on C324. This was a controversial road built by Richmond convicts under Governor Arthur in the 1830s.

In Richmond the gaol is located behind the former courthouse.
