Lake Dobson road closed by landslip

The Lake Dobson Road in Mt Field National Park will remain closed while an assessment of the road continues, following a landslip that damaged a 15 metre section of the road.

The landslip occurred on Saturday, September 23. No vehicles will be permitted beyond the locked gate at the bottom of Lake Dobson Road, near the Mt Field visitor centre. The road is the only access to the alpine area of the park.

The road is managed by the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources (DIER) which is arranging for further geotechnical assessments to be carried out before road works can be undertaken to restore vehicle access to park visitors.
