Visitor Statistics

Tasmania's national parks and reserves and the many recreational opportunities they provide are a major drawcard for visitors from Tasmania, the Australian mainland and overseas.

The collation of visitor statistics plays a major role in the management of these important resources. An understanding of patterns of use allows managers to make informed decisions about providing facilities to enhance visitor enjoyment and safety, as well as ensuring the protection of the natural and cultural values for which the parks and reserves were created.
