Rediscover Maria Island

Reduced price camping and accommodation from 1 June to 31 August 2013

Coffee Palace, Maria Island

Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service invites you to experience Maria Island in winter, a beautiful time of year to enjoy an island escape that is truly away from it all.

Maria Island is a special place with something for everyone - historic ruins, sweeping bays, rugged cliffs and mountains, and remarkable wildlife.

Basic accommodation is available in the old Penitentiary at Darlington. This offers nine rooms, each with six bunk beds and comfortable mattresses, a picnic-style table and chairs and a wood-fired heater.

The large camping area behind the dunes adjacent to the barbeque shelter has plenty of sites if you prefer to be closer to nature.

Take the opportunity and plan a trip to Maria Island this winter.  Call the Triabunna Visitor Centre on 6256 4772 for more information.

See our Visitors Guide to Maria Island and our camping and accommodation page for further information.
