Smooth froglet, Geocrinia laevis

Smooth froglet

The smooth froglet is found throughout northern and central Tasmania, where it occurs in wet and dry forests. It also occurs in south-west Victoria and south-east South Australia. It reaches a length of 30 mm. The tadpoles take about six months to complete their development.

The species has a grating call, 'creeeek - crek - crek - crek --'. It can be heard during autumn.
