Clear pools of blue-green water, boulder-strewn rivers and open dry forest make the Douglas-Apsley National Park different from other parts of Tasmania.

Highlights

Douglas-Apsley is one of the few largely uncleared dry forests in Tasmania. It is virtually unique in the diversity of plants and animals that it still harbours. Unlike the tanin-stained waters so typical of western Tasmania, the waters of the Apsley River waterhole are crystal clear.
