	15 minutes to an hour (depending on your inclination
	Fern Glade Road from the Bass Highway (A1) on the eastern approach to Burnie
	There are picnic areas, fireplaces and toilet facilities. BYO firewood
	Easy 500m walk
	Group A items
	Deep water; please supervise children
	Dogs are welcome if kept on a leash. No bicycles or firearms allowed. The reserve closes at dusk each day and reopens at 7.30am

Close to the centre of the city of Burnie is a quiet riverside picnic area. The reserve is managed by Burnie City Council.

Highlights

Fern Glade is a magnificent walk among large, spectacular tree ferns along the Emu River. If you are lucky you may see a platypus.
