Western Explorer Road remains closed

The Western Explorer Road on the West Coast remains closed for safety reasons.

The recent large bushfire in the area has weakened some trees and left them in a potentially hazardous state, especially in the event of strong winds.

A professional arborist is inspecting the area this week to identify dangerous trees and these will then be removed by Parks and Wildlife contractors.

The road will be reopened only when it is safe to do so.
