'3 Thumbs' facilities to be rebuilt

The Parks and Wildlife Service has apologised for its failure to consult fully with the community before removing facilities at 3 Thumbs Reserve earlier this week.

General Manager, Peter Mooney says work began after structural and safety issues were identified at the site, but consultation had not recognised the importance of the facilities to the local community.

"We recognise consultation was not wide enough before work began.

"The Parks and Wildlife Service apologises fully for this failure and will take steps to rebuild a replacement facility in consultation with the local community."
