National Parks Passes

Tasmanian National Parks Entry Fees

A valid park entry permit is required for entry to Tasmania's national parks.

A range of national park passes lets you choose the best way to get out and experience Tasmania's world-class national parks.

Visitors to the state have a number of different pass options available to them, the most cost effective being the Holiday pass range. This pass covers entry into all of Tasmania’s national parks for up to two months, and also provide free use of the Cradle Mt shuttle bus.

Residents or regular visitors to the state may find that the Annual or Two Year pass options are more economical. These passes cover entry for up to three vehicles and one boat, as long as they are all registered or garaged at the one address.

National park passes are available from:

1.    Our Online Parks Shop (Only Holiday passes are available online at the current time)
2.    National Park Visitor Centres
3.    Tasmanian Travel Information Centres
4.    Spirit of Tasmania
5.    Service Tasmania Shops
6.    Offline - Print out the annual / two year application form (PDF 147kb). The Completed form can then be returned to the Park Entry Section via mail (GPO Box 1751, Hobart, TAS 7001), fax (03 62 238308) or email (parkfees@parks.tas.gov.au). Please allow for up to 10 working days to process.

The money raised from park fees goes directly towards the upkeep of your parks and reserves. It is used to maintain and upgrade visitor facilities, walking tracks and information booths.  For more information please refer to the full list of current projects funded by park fees.

Educational Group Exemptions – Must be submitted 30 days prior to intended visit.

Educational groups may be issued an exemption following prior application to the Ranger in Charge, provided the school excursion is for educational purposes. Reason for exemption must be explained in full on the form, Educational Exemption Application / Approval Form (PDF 136 Kb).
