Web Site Help

The following information will provide you with details of how to get the best out of your visit to the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service Web Site. If you are having difficulties, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Finding Your Way Around the Site

Tip: Don't forget to use our search page to assist you in finding what you are looking for. It is accessible from the links in the top, right hand corner of every web page.

Tip: If you want to return to the Parks and Wildlife Home Page at any stage, click on the title banner or the Parks and Wildlife Service logo in the top, left hand corner.

Tip: Many of the photographs are available as larger versions. Simply place your cursor over the photograph. If it changes to a hand, it is linked to a larger version. Simply click and the larger version will download.

Using PDF Files

Many of the publications we provide free to you are Portable Document Files (PDF's). These require the Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free software program available from Adobe. Simply visit the Adobe Web Site and follow their instructions to download the Acrobat Reader. Once downloaded, you may need to use the preference settings on your Internet browser to instruct it to use Acrobat Reader to handle PDF Files. This setting is under the Helpers or Applications section of your browser options/preferences.

Using Apple Quicktime VR Panoramas

To view movies and Virtual Visits, the Quicktime Plugin needs to be installed on your computer. The Quicktime Plugin is available free from Apple. To view the Virtual Visits, simply hold the mouse button down while moving the mouse.

Using Shockwave

The animations which appear throughout the Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service Web Site require the Shockwave Plugin, available free from Macromedia. Simply visit the Macromedia Web Site and follow their instructions to download the Shockwave Plugin.
