Don't miss the remaining activities of the Discovery Ranger Program!
The award-winning Parks and Wildlife Service Discovery Ranger Program is in its 29th year of fun and learning, with activities being run in national parks, reserves and other sites throughout the state. The popular program reaches out to the community through public events and activities.
The program began on 26 December 2007 and will run through to 12 February 2008.
Discovery Rangers conduct guided walks, children’s activities, slideshows, spotlight walks and, on occasion, staff portable displays. All of these activities encourage the public to interact with the Discovery Ranger and the environment.
Activities range from native wildlife, cultural heritage, historical aspects of the area, sustainable use, information on visiting national parks and reserves safely and softly, and examples of Tasmania’s unique natural and cultural heritage that visitors can see, hear, touch, and smell.
For a full program of activities within national parks, please check the park noticeboard.
Discovery Rangers are also be conducting shearwater and penguin activities at Strahan, Clifton Beach and Lillico Beach.
Don't miss the opportunity to join the activities this summer! Details of locations and a sample of the activities run are available online inTasmania's Discoveries Guide.
