Where's Tasmania?

Education

This section of the Parks and Wildlife Service Web Site contains a number of educational resources for both students and teachers, and a variety of educational activities.

Educational Resources
A wide range of hands on and interactive activities for teachers and students. Background notes will help both teachers and students further their knowledge of the diversity of Tasmania's magnificent natural environment.

E-Sets
Parks and Wildlife Service’s Environmental, Educational and Electronic set of notes for teachers is designed to assist teachers in planning and implementing an environmental education unit.

Discovery Rangers
In many of our national parks and reserves, and within schools around the State, Discovery Rangers conduct free activities.

Threatened Species Education Kit
This resource, specifically designed for school students, provides details on Tasmania's threatened animals and plants.

Shipwrecks, Sealers and Scientists on Macquarie Island
Shipwrecks, Sealers and Scientists on Macquarie Island is an excellent, award-winning web site designed by students of Fahan School in conjunction with the Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service

Outwit, Outplay, Outfox
A Fox Education and Resource Kit developed for Tasmanian Schools to provide information on foxes, the threat they pose to Tasmania and what students and others can do to help.

Further educational resources designed specially for students and teachers will become available. In the meantime, remember that there is an enormous amount of information available on the Parks and Wildlife web site.
