Summary

This fishery management plan is a subsidiary plan under the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area Management Plan (WHA plan). The plan covers all areas of responsibility for which the Inland Fisheries Service (IFS) has statutory control; freshwater native species, freshwater recreational fisheries, and freshwater commercial fisheries. The plan also makes several recommendations on land management issues for consideration by the Parks and Wildlife Service (PWS).

The area covered by the plan includes the Central Plateau Conservation Area west of the Lake Highway and the Walls of Jerusalem National Park, both of which lie within the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.
