Summary

Staged Development Australia have submitted to Government a proposal for an ecotourism operation at Planter Beach, Cockle Creek. The development entails a lodge and 60 – 80 accommodation units, an 800-metre extension of the existing road, and a jetty.

The proposal was assessed in accordance with the Major Pathway of the New Proposals and Impact Assessment Process in the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area Management Plan 1999. The proposal required a change to the Management plan.
