Mountain Huts Preservation Society working bee
Saturday 31st October 2009
Location: Warner's Track, Central Plateau
Meet at: the Deloraine Train Park at 8am or at Pine Lake at 9am

The Mountain Huts Preservation Society (MHPS) has worked with the Parks and Wildlife Service for more than 20 years in undertaking conservation activities for the preservation of historic heritage huts throughout the Central Plateau area. The group consists of several direct descendents from the original hut builders, as well as local community members interested in the conservation and interpretation of these buildings.
The next working bee will involve further reconstruction work on the larger bridge on Warner's Track. The group has been working on rebuilding 2 bridges and the project is in the final stages of completion.
Volunteers of all ages are welcome. The walk into the site takes approximately 2hours each way and you need to be able to walk over uneven ground. Wear strong walking boots and bring warm weatherproof clothing, as the weather in the area is highly variable - snow and storms are not uncommon. Please bring food and drink for your lunch, as there are no facilities available on site.
